Study: Camu-Camu Verses Vitamin C Supplements – Anti-Oxidative/ Anti-Inflammatory properties
Study conducted at the Department of Cardiovascular and Renal Medicine in Japan, 2008
Method:
Study included 20 Male Smoking Volunteers;
10- Smokers where Randomly selected to take 100% Camu-Camu Juice = 1050mg Natural Vitamin C from Camu Fruit
10- Smokers where Randomly selected to take 1050mg Vitamin C tablets. Each for 7 days.
Results:
After 7 days stress markers and inflammatory markers decreased significantly in the group that took the Camu,
However, there was NO CHANGE in the group that took the Vitamin C tablets alone.
Conclusion:
This studies results suggest that Camu-Camu may have powerful Anti-Oxidative and Anti-Inflammatory properties
compared to vitamin C tablets containing equal amounts of vitamin C. This may be due to the unknown Anti-oxidant substances
other than the Vitamin C within the fruit creating this effect.
